A day in the life of a CEO – sorry – I don’t play golf… magazine article

I recall writing about a day in the life of a CEO and yes – I was taking a pop at those who assumed that a CEO would be male, and that all business would be conducted on the golf course. An example of a macho culture came about when I and a member of staff working for me were invited by BACTA to an outdoor pursuits day complete with points and prizes to be won. The teams of young men were to a person revved up and throwing themselves into the challenges as speedily as possible. We were on a mixed team whereby we took more time at the outset of tasks, defining who had the required strengths, and, for example, driving more slowly around obstacles than the Speedy Gonzales-es, and not knocking over a single obstacle along the way.

And guess which team won…?!
